Sonara Alternatives (2026): What to Use Now That Sonara Changed Hands
Sonara, the original AI auto-apply service, shut down on 1 February 2024, was acquired by BOLD and relaunched under new ownership with a trial-then-subscription price. Many lists still call it discontinued. Whether you are a former user or just found it in a listicle, here are seven alternatives: Hireoo for tailored email applications in India, LoopCV, JobCopilot, AIApply and LazyApply for bots, and Jobright and Simplify for matching and autofill, each with India fit, free tier, price as of October 2026 and who it suits.

What happened to Sonara, briefly
Sonara was one of the first consumer auto-apply services: upload a résumé, set preferences, and it applied to matching jobs and sent a daily digest. On 1 February 2024 it shut down after failing to raise funding. About six months later BOLD, the group behind Zety, LiveCareer and MyPerfectResume, acquired the brand and relaunched it; the footer now reads Bold Limited, and third-party pages report a $2.95 trial followed by $23.95 every four weeks or $71.40 a year as of mid-2026 (resumly: what happened to Sonara, LoopCV directory). The site blocks automated checks, so we could not verify the live price.
Two practical consequences. First, if you had a Sonara account before 2024, it is a different company and product now. Second, many "best auto-apply tools" lists, including at least one Indian one, still mark Sonara as discontinued (myjobb listicle); that is stale. Either way, the relaunched Sonara is a US-board, dollar-priced product, which is why the list below includes an India option first.
Option 1: Hireoo
Hireoo is an AI job agent for job seekers in India, used through a chat in English or Hinglish. You describe the job you want in one line; it finds fresh hiring posts from across the web, shows each with a fit percentage and reasons, writes a cover letter for that job and emails it, with your résumé, to the hiring contact from your own Gmail. Access is send-only; it never reads your inbox. You review each email or auto-apply to the results you pick.
- Pros: keeps the daily-results habit old Sonara users liked, but a person receives a cover letter written for the job; built for Indian hiring; no extension; Starter ₹0 with 10 job results a day; weekly pass ₹149 (₹99 until 31 December 2026) with no auto-renew.
- Cons: email only, so form-only employers are out of reach; no reply tracking and no follow-ups; it does not publish where its hiring posts originate; no US listings.
- Best for: Indian job seekers who want applications sent daily and read by someone.
Option 2: LoopCV
LoopCV is the most direct heir to the original Sonara mechanism: upload your CV, pick the job type, press start, and it submits across 30+ boards, with a free-forever plan and paid plans from €9.99 a month (pricing). Its homepage also says it can find a recruiter's email and send a personalised message.
- Pros: free plan; set-and-forget; both forms and recruiter emails; publishes its own directory of competitor reviews, including one of Sonara.
- Cons: euro pricing; machine-translated Hindi site with nothing India-specific; extension needed for login-gated boards; quality needs reviewing.
- Best for: people who want old Sonara back, more or less. See LoopCV alternatives and Hireoo vs LoopCV.
Option 3: JobCopilot
JobCopilot applies on company career pages rather than boards, which it argues avoids ghost jobs. Premium is $0.93 a day with up to 20 matched roles daily; Elite is $1.05 a day with up to 50 and credits to contact hiring managers; weekly, monthly and quarterly billing exist (pricing).
- Pros: employer career pages; hiring-manager outreach on Elite; multilingual interface.
- Cons: no free trial mentioned; dollar pricing; no Indian portals; reviewers report breakage on some applicant-tracking forms.
- Best for: targeting specific companies' career pages, including remote roles abroad. See Hireoo vs JobCopilot.
Option 4: AIApply
AIApply combines auto-apply credits with résumé, cover-letter and interview tools and publishes its own Sonara comparison page. Its pricing page describes a limited free tier, a Premium subscription and credit packs of 100 or 250 without showing prices; third-party reviews report roughly $49 to $99 a month for the packs (aiapply.co/pricing).
- Pros: pay per batch; large toolkit; student discount.
- Cons: opaque pricing; dollar billing; no India page.
- Best for: occasional auto-apply bursts plus coaching tools.
Option 5: LazyApply
LazyApply is pure volume: Basic $99 a year (15 applications/day), Premium $149 (150/day) and Ultimate $999 (1,500/day), a 30-day money-back window, no free tier, and a Chrome extension that applies on Greenhouse, Dice, Indeed and ZipRecruiter (lazyapply.com).
- Pros: the highest daily caps in the category; money-back window.
- Cons: annual dollar billing with no trial; US-centric boards; no review step; nothing for India.
- Best for: someone who wants maximum volume and accepts the quality trade. See LazyApply alternatives and Hireoo vs LazyApply.
Option 6: Jobright
Jobright matches you to fresh listings, shows posting times, autofills forms and offers an AI copilot. The free tier covers matching; Turbo is reported at $39.99 a month, $17.99 a week or $89.99 for three months, and the pricing page returned an error when we checked, so see jobright.ai (jobnova).
- Pros: freshness stamps; match scores; free tier.
- Cons: US-only in practice; autofill, not apply-for-you; dollar pricing.
- Best for: US-targeting searches that want matching more than sending. See Jobright alternatives.
Option 7: Simplify
Simplify's free Copilot autofills forms while you submit; its help centre also describes an Autopilot that submits without a review step. Simplify+ is $19.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $89.99 for three months (help centre).
- Pros: free extension; large database; tracker.
- Cons: desktop Chrome only; US-first; expensive in rupees.
- Best for: faster manual applications. See Simplify alternatives.
How to choose
- Decide whether you want old Sonara back or something better. Set-and-forget with a daily digest: LoopCV or JobCopilot. Daily results plus a human reader: Hireoo.
- Check geography first. Every tool here except Hireoo is built around US or international boards. In India, use Hireoo for hiring posts and, for portal listings, a portal bot such as myjobb or ApplyCove, both covered in the auto-apply job websites in India listicle.
- Check what the recruiter receives. A profile in a queue, or a cover letter in an inbox. If you already apply plenty and hear nothing, change the channel.
- Check the login question. Portal and board bots log in as you; email and autofill tools do not.
- Test free tiers for two weeks and count replies. That is the only number that settles it. Clean your résumé with the free ATS résumé checker first, and read what auto apply means and the risks by type if you are unsure which category a tool belongs to.
If you want the email-first option, create a free Hireoo account and describe the job you want in one line.
